Campus is expected to be a place for agent of change which is student. This place must be able to create a comfortable, clean, shady (green), beautiful and healthy place.

          A green campus is a campus program that cares about and is environmentally cultured which has carried out systematic and sustainable environmental management. The green campus is a reflection of the involvement of all campus residents who are in the campus environment which must always pay attention to aspects of health, work safety, and the surrounding environment.

          A Green Campus is a greening activity for the environmental to make it more friendly practices and education combine to promote sustainable and eco-friendly practices in the campus. The green campus concept offers an institution the opportunity to take the lead in redefining its environmental culture and developing new paradigms by creating sustainable solutions to environmental, social and economic needs of the mankind.

          For students, the green campus concept is very useful. Some of what students feel is to provide a pleasant learning atmosphere because of the good air and scenery provided by green plants. Types of plants can also be used as a learning resource for students, especially students majoring in natural science. A good environment also increases enthusiasm for learning. A hot, sultry and arid environment is definitely not a comfortable place to study.

          For lecturers and educators, the green campus environment has a very good impact on the continuity of the teaching process. Lecturers can make innovations in environmental-loving activities which of course require the participation of students as well. With the good environment, it will definitely provide new motivations for lectures to create the new creativity to improve the quality of their teaching. Therefore, the style and the method of the teaching the lesson will be more innovative and fun. Then it can be accepted by students well.

          For other campus residents, especially campus affairs managers, this program can help them save energy which requires a lot of money. For example, with the campus green program, room lighting activities do not require electrical energy, but prefer to use natural light. The natural cool atmosphere due to the green campus will reduce the use of air conditioning so it is more economical. The money saved from energy savings can be more useful and can also be used for other important purposes. The money can be used for the improvement of the quality of learning that is useful for all parts in campus.
